Cookie Policy

Effective date: July 2026
Last reviewed: 25 July 2026

1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how Aurelia Homes Ltd (“Aurelia Homes”, “we”, “our” or “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit www.aureliahomes.co.uk.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that any personal information collected through our website is handled lawfully, fairly and transparently in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (“UK GDPR”), the Data Protection Act 2018, the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003, as amended (“PECR”).

This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use and protect personal information more generally.

Where cookies or similar technologies require your consent, we will ask you to make a choice through our cookie banner or Cookie Preferences before those technologies are used, unless an applicable legal exception applies.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your computer, smartphone, tablet or other device when you visit a website. They allow websites to recognise your device, remember certain information about your visit and provide a secure, reliable and more convenient browsing experience.

Cookies may be used for different purposes, including enabling website functionality, maintaining security, remembering preferences and understanding how visitors interact with a website.

Cookies may be:

  • session cookies, which expire when you close your browser;

  • persistent cookies, which remain on your device until they expire or are deleted;

  • first-party cookies, which are set directly by our website; or

  • third-party cookies, which are set by external service providers whose technology is used on our website.

Similar technologies, including pixels, tags, scripts and local storage, may also be used. References to cookies in this Policy include similar technologies where applicable.

3. Types of Cookies We Use

3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the operation, security and functionality of our website. They enable core features such as page navigation, website security, visitor session management and recording your cookie preferences.

_GRECAPTCHA — Google reCAPTCHA: Used to protect our consultation form against spam, abuse and automated submissions by carrying out security and risk analysis. This cookie is not used by Aurelia Homes for advertising or Google Analytics.

Google confirms that reCAPTCHA sets the necessary _GRECAPTCHA cookie when executed for risk analysis. Squarespace confirms that it uses invisible reCAPTCHA v3 on most sites, so visitors will not normally need to tick a box or select images.

Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent where they are essential to provide the website service you have requested.

3.2 Functional Cookies

Functional cookies allow a website to remember choices such as certain display or preference settings. Where any non-essential functional cookies are introduced or used on our website, they will remain restricted unless you consent to them through our cookie banner.

3.3 Analytics and Performance Cookies

Analytics and performance cookies help website operators understand how visitors interact with a website, for example by providing information about pages visited, approximate visit duration and technical performance.

Aurelia Homes does not use Google Analytics.

Squarespace may use analytics and performance cookies to provide aggregated information about website traffic and performance. These non-essential cookies are restricted unless and until you consent through our cookie banner. You may decline them or change your choice at any time through Cookie Preferences.

Aurelia Homes has disabled Squarespace’s Activity Log, so individual visitor activity and IP-address details are not available to us through that feature. Squarespace may still process limited technical information where needed to host, operate and secure the website, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

3.4 Marketing Cookies

Aurelia Homes does not currently use advertising, behavioural-targeting or marketing cookies on its website.

If marketing technologies are introduced in the future, this Cookie Policy will be updated and any legally required consent will be requested before those cookies are used.

Cookie names, purposes and durations may change when Squarespace or Google updates its services. We review this Policy when the technologies used on our website materially change. Our cookie banner and Cookie Preferences control whether non-essential cookies may be used.

5. Third-Party Services

5.1 Squarespace

Our website is hosted by Squarespace. Squarespace uses essential cookies and similar technologies that enable the website to function securely and reliably. These technologies may support website performance, visitor sessions, security features and cookie-preference management.

Some Squarespace cookies are strictly necessary for the operation of the website and cannot be disabled through Cookie Preferences. Non-essential Squarespace cookies remain restricted unless and until you consent.

5.2 Google reCAPTCHA

Our consultation form uses Google reCAPTCHA, an anti-spam and security service. When reCAPTCHA is executed, Google sets the necessary _GRECAPTCHA cookie and may process device, browser, network and interaction information to carry out security and risk analysis.

We use reCAPTCHA only to protect the form and do not use it for advertising or Google Analytics. Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to reCAPTCHA.

5.3 Social Media Links

Our website may contain links to external social-media platforms, including Instagram and other social-networking services.

Selecting these links will direct you away from our website. Simply displaying a link to a social-media platform does not itself set cookies from that platform. However, once you visit an external website, that provider may place cookies or collect information in accordance with its own privacy and cookie policies.

5.4 Future Third-Party Services

As Aurelia Homes continues to develop its digital services, additional third-party technologies may be introduced to improve website functionality, online booking, customer communications or other legitimate business purposes.

Where such services involve cookies or similar technologies requiring consent, this Cookie Policy will be updated and visitors will be provided with an appropriate choice before those technologies are used, unless an applicable legal exception applies.

6. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

When you first visit our website, our cookie banner allows you to:

  • Accept all cookies;

  • Decline non-essential cookies; or

  • Manage cookies and choose which non-essential categories to accept.

Non-essential cookies remain restricted unless and until you consent.

You may withdraw or amend your consent at any time by selecting Cookie Preferences on the website. Changing your choice does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing based on your consent.

Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled through Cookie Preferences because they are required to operate, secure or provide requested features of the website.

7. Managing Cookies Through Your Browser

Most web browsers allow you to manage cookies through your browser settings. Depending on the browser you use, you may be able to:

  • delete existing cookies;

  • block some or all cookies;

  • receive notifications before cookies are stored;

  • restrict cookies to selected websites; and

  • use private or incognito browsing modes.

Browser controls are usually found in the privacy, security or settings section of your browser. The available controls vary depending on your browser and device.

8. Consequences of Disabling Cookies

Declining analytics cookies will not prevent you from accessing the core website, although the aggregated information available to us through Squarespace Analytics may be less complete.

Blocking strictly necessary cookies through your browser may prevent parts of the website from operating securely or correctly. In particular, blocking the _GRECAPTCHA cookie may prevent the consultation form from being submitted because the cookie supports the form’s security and anti-spam checks.

9. International Data Transfers

Squarespace and Google may process information outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States.

Where a restricted transfer of personal information occurs, we use an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism or safeguard under UK data protection law. Please see our Privacy Policy for further information.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in legal requirements, technology, our website functionality or our business operations.

The latest version will be published on this page. The effective and last-reviewed dates shown at the beginning of the Policy indicate when it was issued and most recently reviewed.
